2010 - July 6 (Day 21) Palmer to Seward

We came thru Anchorage on route 1 and turned onto Seward Highway in the middle of town. Then about 90 miles south of Anchorage, at Tern Lake Junction, we turned onto route 9 for the final 37 miles to Seward, which we will have to retrace tomorrow in order to get back to route 1 to get to Homer.

We took our time, stopping along the way to take pictures and take in the scenery. At Kenai Fjords National Park we hiked about a mile (round trip) to see Exit Glacier up close. After eating lunch in the parking lot, we drove the 7 miles into town. We went to the Alaska SeaLife Center and by the time we got out of there, it was time to look for a place to sleep.

After consulting several of our books, and looking what was available in town, we decided on Stoney Creek RV Park. It's a little pricey at $35.00, but, unlike most of the parks in town, it has free showers, cable TV and WiFi.

We're snuggling in for the night!
